Les fleurs

Everything that I thought I knew I wanted for this big day in my life, I indeed had no idea. My plan to have a tight-knit bundle of pink tulips in my hands as I walk down the aisle has now changed completely. In visiting with my florist last night (this was my second visit, but don't be confused, I am not a high-maintenance bride) I think I have decided on some beautiful pink/magenta hues; alstroemerias, white iris, stock, waxflower. Here's an idea of what I'm talking about:

Doesn't it look great against a black background? Of course it will look much cleaner in the actual bouquets! Ah, one more detail finished!!

David has a job!!!

That's right, the contract goes in the mail today! As of August, David will be teaching chemistry or physics at Union Grove High School (http://www.ug.k12.wi.us/).

Union Grove was the first school to offer him an interview (his first ever) and they were the first to offer him a job. I am so proud of him and so excited for him. (And, I'm just really glad that we'll have a second income. David knew that if he didn't find a teaching job he would be "working with his back" until he did. You can only imagine how unhappy and miserable that would make him, how miserable I would be, and in turn, how miserable all of you would be. So, thank God today that David has a teaching job, for your sake. :)

In other news, David graduates tomorrow morning. Aren't we all just so proud!? His goal was to have a job lined up before he finished school. In typical fashion, he's done it, the day before. I am just so proud of him! I'll post pictures from the big day next week, if I can get some!

How does one choose?

The three women I have asked to walk before me and commit to having an active role in my wedding and my marriage, are there for a reason. They have stood the test of time. They have believed in me, and the family David and I are creating, even when I didn't believe. They are the ones that convinced me my past relationships were going no where. You know these kind of friends - the ones that are there, even when you wish the whole world would just leave you alone.

In choosing to have them with me - close to my side - on October 7 I have made them the elite of the elite. The top of the line in my book. Choosing one to have more importance than the others just doesn't seem fair. It feels quite the opposite in fact.

How does one go about choosing the top maid? How do I choose one and tell the other two that they're not as good, not as valued, not as appreciated? How do I make sure that they don't feel any of those things?
